Practical Board Tools: Using the QNET Board Governance Criteria on Wednesday, February 29 will familiarize you with the QNET criteria and questionnaires designed for not-for-profit  boards to assess their performance with a focus on:

• Client Focus
• Responsibilities
• Communication
• Accountability

The QNET Criteria can be used with a wide range of governance models and concentrates on a best practice approach. In addition to the criteria, you will receive two practical questionnaires for your toolbox: Initial Assessment of Not-for-Profit Board Practices and Key Questions for Boards.

Governance Models for Boards on Wednesday, March 21 tackles the age-old problem of what governance actually means. This half-day session covers:

• What governance is and why it is important
• The core principles of good governance
• How to analyze different governance models
• Ways to assess what kind of board you are
• Approaches for deciding what kind of board you would like to be
• Tools and strategies to implement good governance in your organization
