Creating Policies and Procedures
Enforcing a policy or procedure can quickly become frustrating when no one understands it. Employees misinterpret expectations, managers find it difficult to apply rules consistently, and documents meant to offer clarity end up creating confusion. Well-written policies and procedures help teams operate smoothly, support consistent decisions, and make compliance easier. But unclear or overly complex language leads to mistakes, misunderstandings, and wasted time. These individual issues often become broader organizational problems.
By the end of this session, you’ll know how to create policies and procedures that people will actually read and follow. This hands-on workshop gives you the tools to plan and write policy and procedure documents that people can understand and use. Through practical activities and guided exercises, you’ll learn how to organize information clearly, use accessible language, and ensure compliance with internal and external requirements. You’ll also explore how to introduce policies and procedures effectively and support long-term use through training and maintenance.
