In this fun, energizing and fabulously stimulating session, you will have the opportunity to increase your ability to deal effectively with high pressure situations, stress and “difficult” people.

Learning objectives:

  • Learn about the link between effective self-regulation and quality leadership.

  • Discover what types of situations and people cause stress and conflict reactions.

  • Uncover personal strengths with self-regulation.

  • Understand and strengthen cognitive flexibility, impulse inhibition and effort control.

  • Learn how to stay calm, composed and confident in any high pressure and stressful situation.

  • Gain a variety of proven, simple and practical strategies for effective self-regulation.

Presenter: Stephen de Groot, Myriad Consulting

Stephen de Groot is a clinical and organizational consultant, author ofRelationship Based Strengths Approach (RBSA) and Responsive Leadership in Social Services, and founder of the Getting to BetterTM initiative. He specializes in the development and implementation of relational and strengths based interventions at all levels of social service systems, from planning to direct service delivery and front-line practice. For the last 20 years Steve has worked with more than 200 organizations in a variety of fields and sectors in 9 countries, providing support, education and training. He has instructed in both Bachelor and Masters Programs at the University of Manitoba for more than 7 years and continues to operate in a myriad of roles such as mentor, consultant, trainer, supervisor, author, facilitator, strategic planner and international speaker.
