Event Description

Stand and Deliver: Level up your pitching and presentation skills (virtual training)

Jun. 03, 2020

Full day workshop offered virtually over three mornings:
Wednesdays, June 3, 10, and 17

9:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon each morning

This workshop qualifies as an optional (full day) course in the QNET Certificate in Management Development (CMD)

Whether you are pitching a new idea to your team or clients, presenting at a conference, or networking, this course is for you. And yes, this includes sitting down and delivering online too!

This course will cover three pillars of presenting -- story, structure and strategy – that you can leverage to illustrate the impact of your work, instruct and inspire others, deliver strong calls to action and/or communicate your value.

These three sessions will be highly interactive, engaging all participants in discussion, skill development and practice in small breakout groups as well as in the main session. In addition the course is designed to provide opportunities for significant connection and peer support.

To enhance learning and make this workshop most effective for individual participant goals, this course includes pre-work and follow ups for each session. (Not to worry, none of it will take too long!)

COVID19 Bonus: A 30-minute one-on-one coaching session for each participant will be available between sessions 2 & 3.

Learning objectives:

  • Gain knowledge of the theory and science of engagement
  • Identify the basic building blocks of a memorable and engaging story
  • Demonstrate concrete ways to make presentations memorable and actionable.
  • Apply at least two presentation structures useful in developing a succinct pitch or a longer presentation.
  • Identify, develop and practice a presentation segment linked to strategy -  a specific goal or audience you need to connect within your work.
  • Gain tips for engaging and authentic delivery, as well as managing pre-presentation anxiety.
