Dealing with Anger and Aggressive Behaviour

Aggressive behaviour has always existed and been challenging.  These days it seems to be increasing, with technology offering more platforms for aggression. One angry exchange in the work environment can result in us feeling helpless, distract us for the rest of the day, and significantly increase the negative stress in our lives.

So what can we do?  How can we stay healthy?  What are our options for responding without getting into trouble ourselves?

This course will focus on anger and aggressive behavior in a work situation, from a client, co-worker, colleague, supervisor, supplier, etc. It will include learning about how anger works and how to respond well through interactive exercises.

In this course, participants will have the opportunity to:

  • Understand the cause of anger and the way anger works in our bodies
  • Gain self-awareness regarding own beliefs about anger and our patterns of responses
  • Identify how to stay mentally safe when confronted by an angry person
  • Learn a variety of communication skills and strategies to deescalate an angry person

This course is scheduled to run in person. Contact mail@qnet.ca if you are unable to attend the course in person; we will check to see if you can join the in-person course by Zoom.
