Mitchell DeFehr
Project Manager, Talent and Workforce Development, Winnipeg Economic Development and Tourism

Mitchell DeFehr serves as Project Manager on the Talent and Workforce Development team at Winnipeg Economic Development and Tourism, where he leads the Work in Manitoba Job Portal initiative. In this role, Mitchell focuses on strengthening Manitoba’s talent ecosystem by connecting employers with skilled job seekers and leveraging data-driven insights to support workforce planning. He works closely with industry partners and community stakeholders to build sustainable talent pipelines that drive economic growth and position Manitoba as a competitive destination for business and workforce development.

Mitchell works to ensure that employers have access to tools that reduce administrative burdens and improve job-matching efficiency. His efforts help position Manitoba as a competitive destination for business growth and workforce development. In addition to managing the portal’s operations, Mitchell contributes to stakeholder engagement initiatives and partnerships that amplify recruitment opportunities across the province. Passionate about economic development and talent attraction, Mitchell is committed to creating innovative solutions that support Manitoba’s long-term prosperity and inclusive growth.

Shannon Gander
CEO, Life Work Wellness

Shannon Gander is a sought-after mental health, stress, and resilience speaker who is on a mission to help individuals and organizations achieve their goals for better mental health. She works with senior leaders, executive teams, and organizations to strengthen psychological health and safety, prevent burnout, and flourish through stress, change, and uncertainty.
